We answer this question in a new Ibisio video, where we head into corn farmers’ fields in several different European countries. You can watch the video below.
The video presents farming realities in Europe. We talk to a lot of customers and hear their honest feedback on their challenges, including with bird damage to fields, and the impact that a sustainable long-term solution would have.
Across Germany, France, Italy and Switzerland, we learn of different local geographies, market situations and climatic challenges. But one thing unites them all: a need to withstand crow and pheasant attacks after seeding. Farmers are on the hunt for solutions that are both effective and offer a good environmental profile, helping them protect their investments and meet consumer demands.

The answers to their challenges will be holistic and integrated – and we are confident that Ibisio will be a part of it. In the video, you’ll also hear from Bayer experts on why Ibisio is such an essential innovation for the future of corn production, and how – in an area where other solutions are being lost due to regulation – Ibisio can be relied on in the coming years.
Ibisio has already received its first emergency approvals in selected territories in Europe, and we are aiming to achieve widespread registrations between now and 2028. It is already well-proven in trials – but as the video demonstrates, at Bayer we don’t stop with trials. We also evaluate our solutions in real farm settings, making sure they align with farmer challenges and opportunities.
